Meet report from Lisa – Barnet Copthall Winter Invitational

Published January 9, 2018 by

Over 30 of our swimmers took part in the Barnet Copthall Meet yesterday and our swimmers certainly started the year with a bang!

The day was full of excitement with very competitive races, not only between competitors from other Clubs, but also our own. In some events LBHSC occupied 4-6 of the 8 lanes, proving that we are growing in depth and ability.

It was 3 of our young swimmers first time for competing – Delilah Paisley, Lilly Owens and Filip Choinski. In true LBHSC spirit and determination they did us proud and swam amazingly well. Delilah and Filip even won medals!

Once again, the children supported each other throughout the very long day and despite the dramas of goggle malfunctions and a couple of disappointing DQs, our young swimmers learnt by their mistakes, refused to be defeated and prepared themselves for their remaining races, performing superbly.

Our vast medal haul is as follows and needless to say, many outstanding PBs were achieved as well as some first time medal winners.
